However, there are a number of smaller species of mudskipper that would be far more ideal for the smaller tanks I have:
Periophthalmus novaeguineaensis
80mm
Periophthalmus minutus
78mm
Periophthalmus darwini
45mm
Periophthalmus takita
65mm
Periophthalmus gracilis
45mm
Periophthalmus variabilis
70mm
The only problem is that Ive never seen these species for sale at any LFS, not even overseas (with the exception of the Dwarf Indian mudskipper (P. novemradiatus) which is unavailable in Australia). Any idea on how to get ahold of them (without costing an arm and a leg)? Id prefer not to travel over 4000km to collect them myself

You're talking about the allowed import list, right? Forgot about those...
The aforementioned species are Aussie natives, but idk if they're WA natives...
Edit: Just had a read of the List of Exempt Native Specimens: https://www.legislat...ils/F2014C00407
Three mudskipper species are mentioned: P. weberi, P. argentillineatus, and P. sp. (says "new guinea mudskipper, so probably P. novaeguineaensis)
Not the species I'm looking for, though
