***NEW AUCTION GUIDELINES JULY 2019***

  • To ensure the evening does not run too late, the number of lots will be capped at 100 ONLY.
  • Cichlid lots will take preference to any other lots;
  • We will not be accepting multiple lots of the same fish. The fist 2 lots of that fish is what we accept.
  • Put more fish per bag or lot to increase worth and value for buyer and get your lots in early.
  • PCS will attempt to include all sellers submitting lots, how ever lots will be cut off 2 weeks prior to the auction day.
  • All perishable items (e.g. food, chemicals, water treatments) will not be accepted unless they are sealed (i.e. unused).
  • Lots will be given a minimum starting bid value. We will not accept bids below this value to keep the night moving along.

There are a few things people need to be aware of for auction -

  • General public are welcome to attend the auction.
  • Only club members can sell lots at the auction but you can become one on the night. Anyone can bid/buy.
  • The PCS takes a 10% commission on all sales at the auction.

*** PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN BOXES TO TRANSPORT FISH AND GOODS - THESE WILL NOT BE PROVIDED***

Please bring your own boxes and bags to the auction to transport fish and goods home with you. If you bring your own boxes, please ensure you write your name on them to identify that they belong to you.
Please keep your eyes on your boxes if you leave them in the room, PCS is not responsible for taking care of them for you as we are too busy on auction nights. PCS will not have a stock pile of boxes for you to pack fish into at the end of the auction, it is important to bring your own.

All are welcome. Hope to see you there Tuesday, July 2nd.

Doors open 7:00pm. Veiwing starts 7:30pm. Auction starts 8:00pm at Atwell College, 201 Brenchley Drive, Atwell 6164.

Lots can also be submitted to me through FB, check the auction post on FB to see me posting below. As far as how lots will be given out here is an example.

Person1 submits 2 lots of electric yellows first, Person2 submits 5 lots of electric yellows second, Person3 submits 1 lot of electric yellows third and Person4 submits 10 lots of electric yellows. Person 1 will be given 1 lots of electric yellows. Person2 will be given 1 lot of electric yellows. Person3 will not be given any lots of electric yellows unless there is room in the auction and it is decided that electric yellows are an interesting cichlid (LOL not happening for EY's). Person 4 will not get a lot under any circumstances.

Also remember the old rules still apply

·         All lots need to be submitted by Friday 24th of June before the auction, only in discretionary circumstances will this be flexible.

·         Lots are locked in Friday 24th of June before the auction and no alterations will be accepted without dire circumstances.

·         Please remember PCS is run by people who volunteer there own time so being organised and submitting lots in a timely manner (both before hand and delivery on the night) will be very much appreciated.

·         Cichlid lots will take preference to any other lots.

·         To encourage sellers to submit cichlid lots, the PCS has discounted the commission it will take from the sale price (5% vs 10% for non-cichlid lots).

·         While duplicate lots will be accepted, at the discretion of the PCS committee, lots may be removed in the interest of fairness and variety. Duplicate lots from the same seller will be those initially selected for removal. Duplicate lots from different sellers will be accommodated as best as possible. Sellers will be notified should this occur.

·         PCS will attempt to include all sellers submitting lots, however preference will be given to those submitting lots weeks prior to auction night.

·         All perishable items (e.g. food, chemicals, water treatments) will not be accepted unless they are sealed (i.e. unused).

·         All lots will be inspected on the night and any lots with deformed, unidentifiable or undersized fish will be removed.

·         All lots will  have the seller's forum name listed on the bag.

·         Fish bagged incorrectly will not be accepted. No sandwich bags or zip-lock bags allowed.

·         Please make sure your fish are adequately bagged. If they are large fish, put each in a separate bag.

·         When booking lots, please use reserve prices sparingly  for the expensive stuff. No reserves will be accepted below $20.

·         Hybrids are not permitted in the auction.

·         If there are any problems with purchases the buyer will be put into contact with the seller, PCS takes no responsibility for lots.

·         If proven to PCS's satisfaction that lots were placed in bad faith (hybrids) or changed/pulled in a way that messes with the auction there will be steps taken. First offence is a limit of 5 lots per auction placed on the seller, Second offence is banned from auctions, the timeline on these punishments or if they are used at all is at the discretion of the PCS committee based on trust and good faith built up from past history between the seller and PCS.

New format seemed to go well, was a fun night had by all with some bargains and some bidding wars. Bidding went quick and we finished earlier so people could get home at a reasonable time which was great. Have to put a big shout out to "Thechief" for the 10 gorgeous tropheus lots that were kindly donated to the SGCF which helps to preserve the cichlids in africa we all love in this hobby. Amazing act!

Seems like the numbers of people are slowly picking back up so hope to see you all at our next meeting two months from now (details to be announced) or at the next auction in four months time.

Cheers
