Just converted a unit for a workmate from t5 to LEDs so I'll share a couple pics. This has no 240v wiring so it's easy for anyone with some soldering skills to put together :) the leds are 5050 ip68 waterproofs, the soldering points aren't waterproof so I used some waterproof tape to cover the exposed sections.. 2 strips of white and one of blue. The power pack is a pre made 12v 2A converter same as what you use to charge a phone, camera etc but rated for the leds..

I just pulled the existing wiring out but left the fittings to keep the moisture out and drilled some 4mm holes to run the wiring through.
I soldered the strips in a continual run ending with the blue and attached a connecter to the power end :)
Finished off with some silicon over the soldered connections to keep them from rusting and that's it :)
