Is it worth it to buy live sand when setting up a marine rank or is it better to buy dry sand?

Depends on how else you are setting up the tank.
How much live rock and base rock.
How quick are you planning to set up.
Also depends how much you will need to buy.
I recently set up a marine tank and didnt use it.
You could use some live and some regular sand.

I'm setting up a nano tank with 3 KGS of live rock. I'm not necessarily looking at setting it up quickly, I only want to do it the best I can.

As I said, I wouldnt bother with the live sand option particularly if you arent in a rush to set up. Considering its a nano tank though the cost is minimal so why not?
