To use take a small amount of tank water add a couple of granules of egg until dissolved.
Then add it to the tank.
What I love about this is that having high protein it makes fry grow quickly so you can get them onto crushed up fish food quickly.
Also my adult fish love it as a treat. It is not good as the only food but could be incorporated into a balanced diet.
Even my bristlenose fry went for it, before they had even finished their own egg yolk. It just buys me enough time to work out what to feed each different breed of babies.
I also crush up adult fish food by putting in small food container and using a spoon to stir it. If you push the spoon round the edge of the container it breaks up well. Much better than breaking bits off by hand. I also keep my small pot with fry food (cheap mixed granule type food, crushed flakes and crushed expensive colour enhancing granules) and my larger pot with un crushed food for the bigger fish. I usually add both at the same time. The big fish tend to ignore the smaller bits and the larger fry or smaller fish can eat without waiting for the big fish to break it down for them.
